Coming of age with Anne Frank
Sunday July 26, 2026 TBA
Anne Frank’s diary is one of the most published books of all time. Written between the ages of 13 and 15 years old, modern bar and bat mitzvah age students still find her passages relatable to their own experiences. This workshop will explore ways to include Anne Frank’s legacy in meaningful ways during the B’nai Mitzvah years through interactive lessons and an impactful mitzvah project opportunity.

Teaching for Meaning and Purpose
Sunday July 26, 2026 TBA
From creating a Rosh Chodesh practice to experiential lessons in Kashrut, this session will explore how to make Jewish Education address issues of meaning and purpose. How do we connect the curriculum to the lived experiences of our students and their families? In other words, what would make this stick? We will work to shift from teaching the material to teaching what it means in your life, and as lifetime learners ourselves, how we model this.

YIMBY: Yes, In My Back Yard! Using Your Community's Spaces spaces for Jewish Learning
Sunday July 26, 2026 TBA
The majority of our students lives take place outside our Jewish classrooms and Jewish spaces. Jewish learning "on the road" in your own community can increase the impact of what students learn in applicable and relatable ways. Can you teach kashrut at the grocery store? The value of Tzedakah at an art museum or gallery? Find Jewish history in your own back yard? YES, you can. Learn how you can use the spaces around your neighborhood to develop interactive learning that spark your students' interest and excitement.

Me or you? Me and You? The Gray Matter of Jewish Wisdom
Sunday July 26, 2026 TBA
Hillel teaches: “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?” Where are the boundaries? What about gray areas? Where does selflessness versus selfishness fit in? Through the story of Tamar, explore this wisdom that helps guide our interconnectedness and selfcare. Then, we will brainstorm on how to bring serious Jewish learning to teens and adults in our communities.
