About me
Danny retired in 2019 from 45 years of leadership to the Reform movement.
He served as a Director of NFTY, Regional Director of the New Jersey-West Hudson Valley region of the UAHC, National Director of Program for the UAHC, and as Vice President of the URJ. In 2014 he became President of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.
He currently serves as chair of the Board of the Mary McDowell Friends School in Brooklyn, on the board of the Zamir Choral Foundation, and on the Israeli Judaism committee of UJA Federation of New York.
A passionate musician, he has edited several major musical compilations including the Shireinu Songbook, and has coordinated the annual North American Jewish Choral Festival since 1990. he currently sings with the Zamir Choral of New York, and for 50 years has performed with Cantor Jeff Klepper as part of Kol B'Seder. Among their compositions are Shalom Rav and Lo Alecha.
Danny is grateful to be married to Rabbi Elyse Frishman and is a devoted Saba to Aviva Peach and Ruben Dev.
