About me
Cathy Kaplan is the Director of the Religious School & Family Programs at Beth Meyer Synagogue in Raleigh NC. After a decade in a different career path, she entered Jewish communal service in 2009. She has served as lay leader, religious school teacher, b-mitzvah tutor, school administrator, and is now engaged in the holy work of facilitating Jewish learning for 150+ students and creating Jewish experiences for the larger synagogue community.
Cathy is a perpetual learner. She enjoys any educational opportunity that comes her way, including webinars, in-person classes, and conferences of all types. She was a member of Cohort 2 of the Senior Educator Learning Fellowship at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and is now a member of MTEI Cohort 12. She has been a member of the NewCAJE conference team for over a decade, first as Shabbat Chair and now as Educational Director.
Cathy and her husband Rich have two grown children, Andrew and Eva. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys music, reading, DIY house projects, and spending time with friends.
